It’s essential to make sure that the recycled materials are high-grade enough for new use. This way, they can easily replace all kinds of virgin materials, thus supporting the creation of a circular economy. And of course, save money for all involved.

There is a big interest among manufacturing companies to use more of recycled materials. As they look for viable solutions to replace their use of the virgin raw material. But the manufacturers also need the circular material to be of a stable and high quality. This could be plastic, metals, paper, or other material. This need for a certain degree of quality is a non-negotiable demand for the companies to start producing in a circular business model.
The Stena Nordic Recycling Center recycling facility has many advanced processes for producing new raw materials. All with a quality that can compete with virgin raw material. Among other things, Stena Recycling recycles large amounts of quality plastic from electronic waste. This has, for example, been used in our collaboration with Electrolux. In the collaboration where we developed a prototype vacuum cleaner, consisting of 100% recycled plastic from Stena Recycling. In the film, Patrik Ranagården explains which sustainable values are created. Values for all electronic waste customers and for all customers wanting to manufacture products from recycled materials.
Making sure that the recycled material is of high quality is one on the conditions in the necessary developing of markets for circular raw material. Download and read more about the challenges and solutions for these emerging markets.
Products made from recycled materials are driving new circular raw material markets. Kristofer Sundsgård, CEO of Stena Recycling, shares his impressions of new emerging markets for recycled raw materials. Read more in an in-depth article about challenges and solutions related to:
